Polish students at the 15th Architecture Biennale in Venice!

2016-05-10 11:26

15 Polish students will go to Venice to take part in a unique architectural workshop to research into architectural achievements of the last 10 years.

“This is what we would like people to come and see at the 15th International Architecture Exhibition: success stories worthy of being told, and exemplary cases worthy of being shared,” said Alexandro Aravena, director of the 15th Architecture Biennale in Venice. Biennale President Paolo Baratta adds that it is time for a Biennale “dedicated to the exploration of the new frontier that demonstrates the vitality of architecture,” and stresses the role of the younger generation of architects, and broad participation by architecture students.

Following this line of thought, the monthly „Architektura-murator” and the International Cultural Centre in Cracow organise a series of exceptional student workshops – „Success Stories”. The workshops will entail conducting interviews with all of the national pavilions and collecting information about architecture in each of the countries (the main questions are: what architectural problem has a given country managed to solve in the past 10 years, and what is the country’s biggest challenge, in the opinion of the pavilion curator). The collected answers will allow conclusions to be drawn in an open, public discussion at the Biennale and will be presented publicly. A complete list of the tasks to be undertaken by participants in the event will be drawn up during two workshops that will take place in 11th-12th of July, before they leave Poland for Venice.

A unique questionnaire carried out simultaneously in several dozen pavilions will allow a summation of knowledge about the most important challenges facing contemporary architecture. Participation by the students guarantees a fresh perspective on the questions dunder discussion, while the experience of the tutors guarantees the high quality of the summary.

Polscy studenci na 15. Biennale Architektury w Wenecji!
